This is mixed media on wood. The inspiration for this painting comes from seeing the sunset through the trees to the ocean from Naikoon Park on Haida Gwaii. It is not finished in this photo.

About me

I was born and raised in Flin Flon, Manitoba in 1955, the eldest of five children. I now live in Lamont County on an acreage with my husband and two dogs. Art has always been my greatest passion. I feel that I've always been an artist, even as a child, growing up, drawing was my past time. My great grandfather was also an artist and had some influence on me. I used to stand very quietly near his easel and watch him paint. When I was about ten years old, my great grandfather passed away and left me all his paints and brushes and I began to paint. Since that time I have changed mediums, from oils to water colors to ink and now acrylic mediums. I am mostly a self taught artist but I have taken many art classes over the years. I have been exhibiting and selling my work for many years. I have shifted my work from very realistic to a much looser abstract style. My work is owned in many private collections as well as corporate collections in Canada, Australia and Scotland. I make a yearly contribution to the Rainbow Wish Foundation for children. Quite often I am inspired by the images I see in my dreams.
