This is a painting that has been sitting around for months.  I am going to vanish it and take it in to be framed.  The title is "Osmosis".

This is another close up of the colors in the painting that I'm working on.  There are still more washes to add but I'm out of creative energy for now.  I guess that is why I'm blogging.

This is 4"x8" canvas and is very textured.  So far I have only used 2 colors.  I painted layers of wash, over and over letting each layer dry before the next layer.  This is a work in progress since dry time is long and I like to think a lot about where I put the next wash and what color I should use or blend the colors to make a third color.  The bottom photo is a close up of an area of the painting.

   This is a huge, 4"x8" canvas which is also very textured.  It was inspired by the sun setting on the ocean.  I wanted the subtle feel of how the reflection fractures on the water and in the air through the molecules of moisture.

24"x36" acrylic on wide edge canvas.  I call this painting "outer space" which is really a bit lame because I'm sure I could have come up with a better name.

Mixed media on canvas.  This is a painting that I did for Lorene.  It is a very textured painting.   It isn't really representational of Edmonton, just my feel of it and how I remember it.

                                               These two larger paintings are a mixed media on canvas and are 4'x8' in size.  I really love to paint huge canvases.  I use a matte varnish with UV protection so they don't have a sheen or glare and really come alive in good lighting.

Lady Blue

I call this Lady Blue. This is acrylic on illustration board. This wasn't a planned painting. I just wanted to paint and so I started with a transparent pyrrole orange and she just emerged. It's going in for framing next week. 30"x40"

oxidization

I call this painting "oxidization." This is acrylic on illustration board. The inspiration for this comes from the old farm machinery and how the rust shows through the old paint. 30"x40"  

This is mixed media on wood. The inspiration for this painting comes from seeing the sunset through the trees to the ocean from Naikoon Park on Haida Gwaii. It is not finished in this photo.

This is an untitled canvas, mixed media, it's about 3' long. Is owned in a private collection.

30"x50". Inspired by the old paint on really old farm machinery. Mixed media on canvas. I used pumice and extra course pumice for the texture.

Acrylic on illustration board, 8"x10". I did this very quickly and it was inspired by a fall walk when the snow was just starting to show in the old grass. I took this photo when the painting was still wet, hence the shiny part.
